One of the greatest responsibilities adults ever face is the protection of children under their care. That is a duty that falls heavily upon those who minister in the name of the Church because children are entrusted to us in so many ways – in schools, in religious education, in Scouting, on field trips and in sports. Parents have a right to expect that their children are as safe as humanly possible in all of these situations.
Effective June 18, 2012, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati has substantially changed the way it conducts training for its Decree on Child Protection. All training sessions on the Decree will now be known as VIRTUS® Protecting God’s Children Awareness Sessions. Each Awareness Session will last 3 hours. No one under the age of 18 will be allowed in the sessions. You must pre-register with VIRTUS® before attending. Walk-in’s are not permitted. To register follow the registration instructions.
Online Virtus® Registration instructions.
Starting July 1, 2014, all people who work or volunteer within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati must attend a live VIRTUS session AND read their monthly bulletins. If you fall behind in reading three or more bulletins, your account will be suspended until you make arrangements with your local Safe Environment Coordinator.
