Make a contribution to the Collection for the Poor on the first Sunday of every month. That collection is used to provide for our neighbors in need.
Join the St. Francis de Sales SVdP Conference and help to serve your neighbors in need. Members serve in 2-person teams to respond to requests for help by contacting the person in need and scheduling a home visit to complete a brief interview form to better understand their needs. In addition to providing for their financial need, we let them know a little about the Society, St. Vincent, and we share that we are open to having a spiritual discussion as part of our service. Each team provides this person-to-person service for a week at a time.
The mission of the St. Francis de Sales SVDP Conference is to help our neighbors in need with temporary support for rent, utilities, food, clothing, and medicine. We work collaboratively with other local churches and social service agencies; this allows our local SVDP volunteers to refer families or individuals to additional resources.
We currently only assist those who live in the Lebanon School District. Please call the Church located in your city's school district if you live outside of Lebanon.
To request help, please fill out the form on this page or call 513-932-2601 between the hours of 10:00 am and noon any weekday, except for holidays.
St. Vincent de Paul was born on April 24, 1581, and died on September 27, 1660, which is now his feast day. He was a priest of the Catholic Church who became dedicated to serving the poor. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion. St. Vincent was canonized in 1737. He is the Patron Saint of charitable organizations, hospitals, prisoners, and spiritual works. Two fundamental characteristics of St. Vincent that merit attention re Prayer and Practical Love.
Prayer--St. Vincent is quoted as saying “Give me a person of prayer and he or she will be capable of anything.” This great man of action was also a contemplative, caught up in God, and consumed by God’s love.
Practical Love--St. Vincent was eminently practical, an organizational genius who urges us to “. . . make your affective love effective.” People flocked to work with him; collaboration has been a hallmark of true Vincentian work.
